Church Leadership

 

Each year the Diocese of Alabama gathers to reflect on its common life and mission.  This year the convention will take place in Huntsville.  St. Mary’s-on-the-Highlands will send a delegation comprised of eight lay persons and the clergy to participate in this council of the church.  The meetings will include addresses by the Bishop and by various departments in the Diocese.  Also, there will be reports from people working to support our companion diocese of Haiti and from the Bethany Village project.  Another important item of business will be the review and approval of an annual budget for the Diocese.  Like St. Mary’s much of the Diocesan ministry is accomplished by small groups committed to a specific mission.  This time in Huntsville allows the larger church in Alabama to hear all that has been accomplished in the past year by the groups and ministries around our diocese.
