Confirmation Class (7th grade): Confirmation is one of five sacramental rites administered by the Episcopal Church, and is one of the first steps young people take in becoming an adult in the church. This year-long class will take a deeper look into what it means to be a faithful Christian, understand what being an Episcopalian means, study the Catechisms, and strive to live into the Baptismal Covenant.
Facilitators: Sally and Stan Herring

24 (8th and 9th grades):  This is a new class being offered this fall for our 8th and 9th graders; 10th graders will have the option of participating in this class or joining the senior high Sunday School class. The class will be using the lectionary based curriculum Living the Good News in addition to discussing current topics and events, and participating in outreach opportunities.. Counting a variety of activities as participation (Sunday School, Bible Study, outreach events), each class member will need to earn a total of 24 gold tokens to participate in a pilgrimage to New York City in April.
The Island of Manhattan was purchased by the Dutch from the Native American  Lenape People for roughly $24 dollars.
Facilitators:  Cheryl Brakefield, Stratt Byars, and Betsy Henley

“Rock Stars of the World”
The Jr. EYC will begin studying the Rock Stars in our lives today.  The 7th and 8th graders will first look at idolatry of celebrities and what the Word says regarding our obsession with the rich and famous.  Directly after the feeding of the 5000, Christ was like a Rock Star in Galilee.  Christ chose this time, when he was adored by the most, to give his hardest teachings as if he was turning away from fame.  Why did he say things that turned the positive publicity into negative publicity?  We will be answering this question throughout the spring while also looking at how Rock Stars such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, and others publish music that can help us answer some of our tougher questions about fame, idolatry, judgment, and God’s love.
