Betsy Fetner Bio

Betsy Fetner, Director of Preschool Ministries
 
Betsy Fetner is a cradle Episcopalian born and raised in Birmingham. Growing up in the diocese of Alabama, Betsy was very active in her home parish of St. Stephen’s, as a camper (and later as a counselor and program staff member) at Camp McDowell, serving on the Youth Department, and at Canterbury Episcopal Student Center in Tuscaloosa. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS in Human Development with concentrations in child and adolescent development and has served on the program staffs of St. Mary’s on-the-Highlands and St Luke’s as a youth minister. Betsy has been trained and certified in Godly Play and Level 1 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. As the Director of Preschool Ministries, she coordinates and supervises the nurseries for children ages 0–2 and teaches 3-5 year olds on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings.

Betsy Fetner Appointed to Diocesan Department of Christian Formation
Over the summer of 2011 Betsy Fetner, Director of Preschool Ministries, was appointed by Bishop Parsley to serve a three-year term on the Diocese of Alabama Department of Christian Formation.  The mission of this department is to provide support and training for Christian Education Directors, clergy and Church School teachers in the areas of children, youth and adult ministries.  The Department of Christian Formation is made up of twelve members, chosen by the Bishop to serve as a voice for Christian Educators in the diocese.  Congratulations, Betsy!
